High-throughput purification of genomic DNA from whole blood in a 96-well format. This kit is based upon the efficient release of genomic DNA from anticoagulated whole blood by a special cell lysis and protein-removal buffer in combination with Proteinase K digestion. The genomic DNA is then selectively absorbed onto a special 96-well plate for further purification an desalting. The purified DNA is predominantly greater than or equal to 30 Kb in length, and is suitable for a variety of applications demanding highly purified, high molecular weight genomic DNA, such as Southern blot analysis, PCR, etc. This kit can be used to purify genomic DNA from fresh or frozen whole blood, bone marrow, other body fluids, lymphocytes and cultural cells.
