These two sets of Initial Screens provide an efficient and rapid high-throughput screening technology for crystallization of proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, and small molecules. They are based on sparse matrix technology1,2 and efficiently sample a broad range of salts, polymers, organic solvents, and pHs. The preliminary results obtained from these Screens (solubility information or crystals) allow the design of subsequent Screens or Optimization Screens to produce diffraction quality crystals.
CP-CUSTOM-1032 Screen set is an extension to CP-CUSTOM-102 and should be used in combination with it in order to screen as many potential initial crystallization conditions as possible. However, if you have limited source of material Axygen recommends the use of CP-CUSTOM-102 first.
